Here is an overview of projects in which employees of the Centre for Sustainable Diets participate, and in which the NIPH is either project leader or participant.
Non-Protected: The impact of perfluorinated toxicants and the gut microbiome on vaccine responses in children
Project leader: Norwegian Institute of Public Health
The project will investigate whether PFAS is important for children's response to vaccines, and examine the role of the gut flora in this.
NorKost 4 national dietary survey
Project leader: Norwegian Institute of Public Health
The Norkost surveys are national surveys of the diet of adults in Norway. The aim of the survey is to find out more about our eating habits and connections between diet and health.
Risks of microplastic and nanoplastic particles (POLYRISK)
Project leader: Norwegian Institute of Public Health
The EU-funded POLYRISK project investigates risks associated with micro- and nanoplastic particles (MNP). The project investigates human exposure to MNP and their potential adverse health effects. POLYRISK assesses occupational and consumer exposure and places particular emphasis on the potential negative effects of MNP on the immune system.
Andre prosjekter:
NOR-Eden
Project leader:
An unhealthy diet poses a major risk to public health and today's food production contributes significantly to today's climate and environmental stress. How can we put together a diet that is both good for health and that leaves a climate and environmental footprint that is sustainable over time, while at the same time taking into account Norwegian food production and food culture? We will try to find the answers in the NOR-Eden project.
Biobank Norge
Project leader: NTNU
Biobank Norway represents one of the world´s largest existing resources within biobanking covering both consented population-based and disease-specific clinical biobanks.
Biobanks in Norway also have access to the unparalleled longitudinal health data making it a unique asset for global research and innovation projects within life sciences, disease prevention and treatment.
ONTOX
Project leader: VRIJE UNIVERSITEIT BRUSSEL
The vision of the ONTOX consortium is to provide a functional and sustainable solution for advancing human risk assessment of chemicals without the use of animals in line with the principles of 21st century toxicity testing and next generation risk assessment.
EIRENE
National node: Norwegian Institute of Public Health
Environmental Exposure Assessment Research Infrastructure (EIRENE) aims to fill the gap in the European infrastructural landscape and to pioneer the first EU infrastructure on human exposome. EIRENE RI was designed as a geographically balanced network of distributed research infrastructures.
The Environmental Biobank
Project leader: Norwegian Institute of Public Health
The Environmental Biobank monitors levels of nutrients, environmental toxins and other unwanted substances in the body over time and examines how these substances affect our health.
ATHLETE Ung og Miljø
Project leader: Norwegian Institute of Public Health
The purpose of the ATHLETE study is to find good methods for analysing how the environment around us affects our health. This knowledge can contribute to creating a healthier and safer environment.
European Partnership for the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals (PARC)
Prosjektleder i Norge: Norwegian Institute of Public Health
A central aim of PARC is to promote European co-operation, promote research, increase knowledge about risk assessment of chemicals and to provide training in relevant methodological skills. The results will help to launch European and national strategies to reduce the risk that hazardous chemicals pose to health and the environment. PARC will also help reduce animal testing and implement next-generation risk assessment strategies.
NewTools
Project leader: Norwegian Institute of Public Health
NewTools is a project to make it easier for consumers to choose sustainable food. NewTools will develop scoring systems that say something about the food's quality.
