The research files for MoBa data were previously made available in versions. We have now moved away from this approach and are updating the data files individually and adding new ones as new questionnaires become available. Below you will find an overview of when the various files were last updated, along with brief information on data based on free text.

Summary of questionnaires

The table below shows the number of participant questionnaires included in research files in MoBa and the date when the file was generated.

For questionnaires answered during pregnancy (Questionnaire 1-3, Father) the unit used in the file is pregnancy. All questionnaires answered by the mother about the child after birth use child as the unit.

Researchers may apply for access to and use of data from the MoBa cohort in their research. The application procedure describes how to apply for access to data in MoBa.

If you have received data from MoBa earlier and need updated data, please send your request to MoBaadm@fhi.no.

Prices for access to data from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health gives information on prices for access to data and updated data from MoBa.

Data based on free text

Occupational information from questionnaire 1 is coded for approximately 70 % of the participants. Occupational data is mainly available on an aggregate level. If more specific information is requested, a careful assessment of the overall data set must be performed to ensure the protection of participants’ identities and privacy.

All medications stated in questionnaires during pregnancy and up until the child is 7 years have been coded using the ATC classification system.

Coded data is not part of MoBa standard data sets and must be specified in the application when applying for data access.

Note that none of the data from open text fields can be delivered in its raw form.
