Summary
The Commonwealth Fund (CMWF) is a foundation in the United States, which aims to promote healthcare systems with better accessibility, quality and efficiency. In order to contribute to this, CMWF has an international program: "International Health Policy", which conducts annual health surveys in a number of countries. These are in a three-year pattern, where the survey is conducted in different populations; GPs, elderly / sicker adults and the general adult population. The aim of the program is to form the basis for new thinking in the area of health policy and provide decision makers with the necessary information to make informed and responsible decisions about the health service system in the countries participating in the surveys. Norway participated in the International Health Systems Survey for the first time in 2009, and has participated annually.
