The application is approved – what now?

If your application is approved, an agreement or decision letter will be issued, outlining terms for use for MoBa data. Any breach may result in revocation of access.

Acknowledgement and citations
All publications and presentations using MoBa data must cite MoBa as the source.
A PDF of the published article shall be sent to mobaadm@fhi.no.
Return of analysis results (biodata)
If the project has performed analyses on biological material from MoBa, the biodata must be returned to MoBa.
Changes to approved projects
Significant changes to an approved project require a change application to MoBa.
- Change applications must be submitted via the form on helsedata.no.
- Applications regarding extension of the project period is recommended to be submitted at least 3 months prior to the end date.
- Please note that the end date in the agreement or decision letter from MoBa may be shorter than the end date from REK. If this is the case, the project must apply for an extension with MoBa to continue using MoBa data.
- The following must be included in the amendment application:
- REK application and approval related to the changes
- Legal basis for continued processing under GDPR
- If MoBa is the sample population for the study, our assessment is that the legal basis for making MoBa data available is: Article 6 no. 1 letter e and Article 9 no. 2 letter j, supplemented by sections in the Personal Data Act §§ 8 and 9.
- Updated variable list (if applicable)
- Original MoBa case number (PDB) if relevant
Changes may require a new agreement or decision letter from MoBa.
