Summary
The consequences of climate change will affect different communities and population groups in different ways; marginalized, exposed, and vulnerable groups are particularly susceptible to its effects. Therefore, it is important to gain a better understanding of which population groups and individuals are most vulnerable. This review aims to map and describe existing research on the meaning of climate change and climate-related events on social inequality and equality. We will conduct a systematic scoping review. A librarian will conduct a systematic literature search in relevant databases, including other sources, to identify relevant studies. We will include primary empirical studies and systematic reviews published in 2015 or later that were conducted in Norway and countries comparable to Norway in terms of social, ge-ographical and economic conditions. These studies must examine the meaning of climate change or climate-related events (e.g. heat-waves, precipitation and floods) on social inequality and equality. Studies will be selected according to pre-determined inclusion criteria. For each included study, we will extract relevant information. The findings will be presented in the form of a simple narrative summary of the studies' results and conclusions.
