The Cancer in Norway reports from 2015 to 2018 contained an error in staging of cervical cancer. Stage, as reported by the clinician, was not used in this period due to an error in mapping from electronic clinical reporting. The traditional staging (localized stage, regional stage, distant stage and unknown) with in-house conversion to FIGO staging was used instead. This caused too high survival estimates for stage IV.

In 2018 we introduced a separate topography to identify cases (n = 50) with uncertain topography but most likely originating from tube, ovary or peritoneum and thereby considered as ovarian cancer. These cases were inadvertently included under C68 (malignant neoplasm of other and unspecified urinary organs). In Cancer in Norway 2019 these cases are included correctly under Ovary etc.
