From 5 July, the Norwegian entry restrictions and quarantine rules will be based on the same threshold values as in the EU. The government has made several changes on the basis of the Norwegian Institute of Public Health’s (NIPH) weekly report, and a considerable number of countries will turn green.

How the NIPH assessment process works
NIPH assesses relevant countries and areas every week. In even-numbered weeks, all countries and areas are assessed for which colour code they should receive. In odd-numbered weeks, NIPH only assesses whether the infection situation indicates that some countries and areas should go from green to red.
New restrictions will be announced on Fridays and will take effect on Monday
Updated country assessment reports will be published on regjeringen.no every Friday at 12:00 noon, and the changes take effect on the following Monday at 00:00 am. When the changes have taken effect, the covid-19 regulations and the interactive map will be updated on FHI.no.
