Go to the home pageCommissioned by the Government, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health prepares a weekly report about which countries and regions satisfy the criteria for exemption from the quarantine duty when entering Norway, which countries do not satisfy the criteria, and which countries have insufficient data for assessment.
The NIPH recommends introducing entry quarantine for 3 districts in Finland (number of confirmed cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last two weeks in brackets):
- Eastern Savo Hospital District (34.8)
- Lappi Hospital District (34.2)
- Länsi-Pohja Hospital District (44.9)
Countries and regions that were red at the last assessment are not subject for removal of restrictions this week. Assessments to change countries and regions from red to yellow are made every fortnight, in even-numbered weeks.
During the week, the Government will decide which countries and regions require quarantine. The changes will take effect from Saturday 7 November at 00:00 a.m.
Cross-border workers
Cross-border workers who, in the last 10 days before coming to Norway, have stayed in areas with a particularly high level of infection, cannot take advantage of the exemption from entry quarantine in the COVID-19 regulations § 6c, i.e. they cannot use the arrangement for testing every three days. See Changes in exemptions from the quarantine obligation § 6 c for cross-border workers for an overview of which regions and countries where this currently applies. In addition to these areas, from Saturday 7 November at 00:00 a.m., this will also apply to Germany as well as the Zealand region in Denmark and Södermanland, Västmanland, Gotland, Skåne, Halland, Västra Götaland and Dalarne in Sweden.
Cross-border workers who make use of exemptions other than section 6c of the COVID-19 regulations can still use these even if they come from an area with increased transmission.
