Responsibilities
Kjersti Mørkrid Blom-Bakke is a senior implementation scientist at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH), Global Health Department, and an associate professor II at the University of Bergen (UiB), Department of Global Public Health and Primary Care. She is heading the Global NCD network, and the Nepal team at NIPH. She is an associate member of the WHO Technical Advisory Group of Experts on NCD-related Research and Innovation (TAG-NCD-R&I), and board member of the Norwegian Forum for Global Health Research. Her research focuses mainly on how to close the “know-do” gap between research discovery and program delivery for strengthening health systems, hyperglycemia in pregnancy, and the integration of NCD prevention and control in maternal and child health services. She has research/work experience from Palestine, Bangladesh, South Sudan, Sierra Leone, and Uganda. She is currently the project director for the Building Stronger Public Health Institutions and Systems (BIS) program in Nepal, and involved in several research projects in Nepal, including as the principal investigator for the IpreventNCD project.
