Kirsti Riiser

I am a senior researcher at the Department for Child and Adolescent Health at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, and a professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences at OsloMet. I am a trained physiotherapist and hold a master’s degree in pedagogy and a PhD in sport science. Through clinical practice and research, I have developed broad expertise in health promotion and preventive services for families, children and young people.

I lead and take part in interdisciplinary research projects focusing on health literacy, health promotion and service development, in close collaboration with schools and health services and with active user involvement. I am particularly interested in how research can contribute to high-quality universal services that meet the needs of all children, young people and families, regardless of their background or circumstances.
