Responsibilities
As a statistician, my research spans a wide range of areas. I particularly enjoy delving into the development of statistical methods as well as statistical software development, especially using the programming language R. I have programmed several functions in the R package Haplin, a statistical tool for genetic association analysis, specifically designed to leverage family structure in data. My research primarily relates to genetic epidemiology and medicine, as well as the applications of these methods and data analysis in registry studies, biobank data, and population studies. Additionally, I like working across various research disciplines, with topics such as fertility and health, and lung diseases. I enjoy teaching statistics, and in 2020, along with my colleagues, I won a teaching award at the Faculty of Medicine at UiB. I am also an associate professor at Høgskulen på Vestlandet.
