The SUPPORT-SYSTEMS project led by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, University of Ghana and KEMRI Wellcome Trust is participating at the 8th Global Symposium on Health Systems Research (HSR2024) in Nagasaki, Japan.
Description
A genuinely learning health system must enable equity in terms of who can contribute to shaping its goals, governance, and management. Civil society, through a range of organizations and movements, provides essential knowledge about experiences, preferences, and values. This session will explore how civil society brings this knowledge into health policy processes, how it is used, and under what conditions it enhances representation, equity, and accountability. It will explore the administrative, institutional, political and cultural factors influencing the use of civil society knowledge and identify actions for fostering open and inclusive decision-making processes in health systems.
