In 2008, the Child Growth Study in Norway began as part of the European Childhood Obesity Surveillance Initiative (COSI) established by the WHO Regional Office for Europe.

Body mass index, weight and height in children and adolescents
WHO has developed growth curves for children aged 0-5 years. IOTF curves are used to assess body mass index, weight and height in children and adolescents between 2 and 18 years.
