The Norwegian Electronic Health Library will ensure that the most important terms in the tesaurus Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) is translated into Norwegian.

Summary

The Norwegian Electronic Health Library will ensure that the most important terms in the tesaurus Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) is translated into Norwegian. In 2009, it was about 25 000 permanent tags in MeSH. The main goal is to get a Norwegian thesaurus for medicine and health that can be used by anyone. It applies to the indexing of publications and websites, for optimal retrieval, and standard vocabulary within the area for good, precise communication and training.

MeSH is included in UMLS (Unified Medical Language Systems).
