Summary

Since 2016, the number of children and young people committing multiple offences has increased. Those who commit serious or repeated offences often face complex challenges and may require comprehensive, individualized support. The Norwegian Institute of Public Health will conduct two systematic reviews of the effects of and experiences with 1) intensive individual support and 2) employment-oriented support for children and young people who commit serious and repeated offences. The findings will inform the development of national guidance for municipalities on preventing crime among children and young people. We will conduct systematic searches in selected databases and other sources and assess the identified publications against predefined inclusion criteria. We will assess the methodological quality of the included studies, synthesise the findings and conduct meta-analyses when possible and appropriate. We will also assess our confidence in the find-ings using GRADE and GRADE-CERQual. Finally, we will present the included studies and the synthesised results in a report.
