NIPH recommends entry quarantine for a new district in Finland

The NIPH recommends entry quarantine from the Southern Savo hospital district in Finland and removal of exemptions from entry quarantine for both this district and the Jämtland region in Sweden.

The NIPH recommends entry quarantine from the Southern Savo hospital district in Finland and removal of exemptions from entry quarantine for both this district and the Jämtland region in Sweden.


Commissioned by the Government, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health prepares a weekly report about which countries and regions satisfy the criteria for exemption from the quarantine duty when entering Norway, which countries do not satisfy the criteria, and which countries have insufficient data for assessment.

The NIPH recommends introducing entry quarantine for the following district from Saturday 21st November 2020 at 00:00 a.m:

  • Southern Savo Hospital District in Finland.
    76.1 per 100,000 inhabitants in weeks 45 and 46 combined.


The NIPH recommends removing the exemption from entry quarantine for cross-border workers, according to the COVID-19 regulations § 6 c for the following regions and districts from Saturday 21st November 2020 at 00:00 a.m:

  • Southern Savo Hospital District in Finland.
    76.1 per 100,000 inhabitants in weeks 45 and 46 in total and 6.0 % proportion of positive results among those tested.
  • Jämtland region in Sweden.
    486.3 per 100,000 inhabitants in weeks 45 and 46 in total and 4.5 % proportion of positive results among those tested.
