Based on the Norwegian Institute of Public Health's assessment of the infection status for coronavirus, the Government has decided that these countries and region will change from yellow to red on the map that indicates quarantine requirements for Europe. This affects the travel advice.

All travellers from these four countries and the Danish region who arrive in Norway from 22nd August shall be in quarantine for ten days.

Norrbotten county in Sweden changes from red to yellow, and therefore no longer requires quarantine duty.

The changes take effect from Saturday 22 August at 00.00 a.m.

The Norwegian Institute of Public Health submits an assessment of the infection situation in the EU, EEA and Schengen countries to the Government every week. The Government decides which countries and regions are covered by the requirements for quarantine upon arrival in Norway.

Last week, the Government decided to introduce a category for yellow countries. As a result, all countries where quarantine upon arrival is not required are yellow.
