Informed Health Choices
Good health depends on people making good choices. Good choices depend on the ability to obtain, process, understand and judge the trustworthiness of the relevant health information.
Most people lack this ability and they lack easy access to reliable information. In the Informed Health Choices-project we address this in two ways:
- Identify key concepts that people need to understand to assess claims about the health effects of treatment options
- Develop and evaluate learning resources that enable people to recognise reliable and unreliable claims, and to use reliable information to inform their decisions
