Vera R. Mitter has an interest in sexual, reproductive and child health research with a focus on fertility and assisted reproductive technologies (ART).
She is a federally graduated Pharmacist from Switzerland and holds a MSc in Demography and Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK.
She has worked in public pharmacies and as a project coordinator at the Swiss Childhood Cancer Registry. As a clinical trial coordinator at the Institute of Hospital Pharmacy in a University hospital she was responsible for investigational medicinal products used in clinical trials. She later decided to conduct a PhD in Epidemiology about obstetric and perinatal outcomes of assisted reproductive technologies (ART) at the University of Bern, Switzerland.
She recently got a mobility grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) to conduct a Postdoc at the Center for Fertility and Health at FHI. Since September 2020 she now works with Dr. Maria Magnus and Prof. Siri Håberg on the long term health of children after ART, using MoBa and Norwegian Registry data.
