Summary
The Norwegian Directorate for Children, Youth and Family Affairs (Bufdir) has broad responsibilities related to child welfare services, family counselling, adoption, equality, and violence in close relationship. One responsibility is to support the child welfare services with evidence-based recommendations concerning various topic areas. Bufdir has requested an overview of and description of research and explorations that have examined the use of force against children and youth in residential child care and foster care.
