Background

Dr. Shilpa Rao's research examines interrelationships between climate change, air quality,public health, and economics. She uses multi-disciplinary methods, including epidemiology,  numerical modeling, and economics. Her work focuses on predictive modeling; scenario analysis of burdens of disease; and economic valuation of risks and responses. She has over 15 years of experience in systems modeling, impact estimation and policy analysis related to climate change, air pollution, and health. She has published extensively in various international journals and has been a key participant and leader in a number of international collaborations.
