Cookies

This website uses cookies primarily for traffic measurement and content optimisation. Cookies are small text files or binary data stored on a user's computer. The cookies do not contain personal information. You can prevent cookies from being stored on your computer by changing your browser settings.

Google Site Search and Google Analytics

The Norwegian Institute of Public Health uses Google Analytics to measure traffic and perform general analysis of the site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect general statistics, such as browser type, length of visit and the website that the user came from. Information from Google Analytics is stored on Google's servers in the USA. Collected data are subject to Google's privacy policy.

An IP address is classed as personal information because it can be traced to specific hardware and thus to an individual. NIPH uses Google Analytics’ tracking code which anonymises the IP address before the information is stored and processed by Google. Therefore, the stored IP address cannot be used to identify the individual user. Read more on Google’s website about which cookies are used.

NIPH uses Google Site Search to search within the website. A "PREF" cookie is generated by Google in order to remember previous searches.

Session handling

A cookie named "ASP.NET_SessionId" is used to record sessions for users who visit the website. This cookie is deleted when you close your browser.

Security and login for My Vaccines

The Norwegian Institute of Public Health provides the online “My vaccines” service which contains personal data. Login occurs via the helsenorge.no website. “My vaccines” retrieves information from the Norwegian immunisation registry SYSVAK. You can choose not to have some vaccinations registered, e.g. seasonal influenza vaccine and travel vaccines.
