Programme

The workshop programme gives the opportunity to learn more about evidence-based practice, i.e. methods to find, evaluate and apply updated research. Participants will work in small groups with facilitators. In addition, there will be plenary sessions, time for independent study as well as literature searching sessions.

After the workshop, you will be able to:

  • Formulate relevant questions for your work
  • Find relevant, research-based evidence to answer the questions
  • Critically appraise the evidence and its applicability
  • Use reliable evidence to make well-informed decisions in clinical practice and in health management.

Open for all

The workshop is interdisciplinary and is open for beginners and those who are more advanced. The course is intended for healthcare workers in the primary and specialist health services, quality managers, librarians, journalists, lecturers in medicine and health, employees in health authorities and health consumers.

The Nordic workshops attract participants from several countries. The plenary sessions will be held in English, and some of the small groups will be for English speaking participants. We recommend that you stay for the entire week to get the most out of the workshop and the group activities.

Literature searching

There will be a plenary lecture and group sessions about literature searching facilitated by a research librarian. Librarians will also be available during the times allocated to independent study.
