In 2008, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) will participate in about 80 international research and collaboration projects. In addition, the NIPH is involved in many international processes and networks.

NIPH’s international collaboration is an integral part of the institute’s activities. All five internal divisions collaborate internationally in research, capacity building and networks and carry out advisory functions in various international fora. This work is co-ordinated by an International Director who is a member of the NIPH’s top management group.

Activities are anchored in the NIPH’s Strategy 2008-2011, in the Strategy for Global Public Health and in each division’s activity plan. Co-ordination, knowledge-sharing and cross-profession dialogue are ensured through the NIPH’s international committee. The committee consists of representatives from all divisions and is led by the International Director. The committee and the International Director report directly to the NIPH’s Director.
