Division of Infectious Disease Control

The Division of Infectious Disease Control is engaged in control and prevention of communicable diseases. The main activities include surveillance of infectious diseases and infectious agents, specialised microbiological assays, recommendations and programmes for vaccination and vaccine supply. The division provides advice to local and central health authorities and health personnel in all aspects of  infectious disease prevention. Research constitutes an integral part of the division's activities and provides in part the basis for information and recommendations from the institute.

The Division of Infectious Disease Control includes approximately 170 employees and is divided into eight departments:

  • Department of Bacteriology and Immunology
  • Department of Virology
  • Department of Biopharmaceutical Production
